Just wanted to share how truly faithful our God is. I have been getting up at 6am this past week Monday and Tuesday, but not getting home from work until 6 or 7pm. Well for some reason, Wed. am I decided my body needed rest and slept in until 9am (I did not know I would sleep that long). That night at 10pm I got a call from my boss saying I needed to do continuous care for a patient from 12am until 8am - all night!!! I got to the patients house at 2am thanks to a co-workers mercy, but did not leave that house until 10 am the next morning. And I was very tired, but would have never made it unless I would have slept in the morning before.

The lesson: God always know what we need and exactly when we need it. Thanks a million Jesus!

Went metal detecting last night in my home town and found a 1876 s seated liberty quarter - WOW!! Praise God I was so excited. I've found 3 silver pieces from the 1700's , but the were NOT American. that's the oldest US silver piece I've found. I'm pumped! I'll take a picture and ask my wife to post it.

God's Blessings

WOW!! We are practically in tears. We never miss tithing to the Lord, but right we are struggling very bad like many people in the country with finances.

My mother just called me up and told me her and dad agreed to send us $1,000. We are just praising God at this time because he is always faithful. To Him be the glory!!!!!!!!!

And in Jesus name, may he always supply all your needs also according to his riches and glory.

Heart disease and sugar

I'm more and more concerned as I research heart disease how over consuming sugar effects our heart. I believe it is much more dangerous than we are aware, especially pastry, and other concentrated sweets. -- I'm trying to cut back for this healthy home. ---healthy dad.

immunizations

Immunizing children is a hot topic these days, and for some healthy homes it may be the right thing. My concern for my children and for my baby on the way is this: Will the government take away all my parental rights by forcing me to immunize my children with all the NEW vaccines? Immunizations from 20 years ago -for example, DTP, Polio Virus Vaccine, smallpox, and MMR I trust. But these days, I don't trust the pharmaceutical companies at all!!! They just scare me because they are pumping drugs and vaccinations out left and right then recalling them because they are killing people. I'm afraid it's only about money these days, not our health.

Certainly, medication saves lives, but my question is where do we draw the line? -- Healthy MOM

Tom Brady

I can't wait until the regular season starts so I can watch Tom Brady and the New England Patriots play a football game. What does that have to do with this healthy home? For me, the healthy dad it does a lot. Watching Tom Brady sit back in the pocket calm cool and collected encourages me to do the same thing when my precious children are driving me crazy, or when I'm wondering how we are going to pay our mortgage next month. The whole team seems to be calm no matter what. I love Peyton Manning, but when he is in the pocket he seems to always be dancing for his life.

Seriously though, watching a football game can be very healthy once in a while if I don't get over emotional. And lets face it, it's restful. I don't have time to watch football every week, but I love the sport and praise God for it. -- Healthy Dad

Welcome!!!!!

Welcome to This Healthy Home! We are excited that you came to visit us. The health of our family is really important. We have 2 girls and a baby boy on the way. As a Mom, it is important to me to provide all I can for my children. Safety is really important too. Our youngest daughter is 22 months old and we need to protect her from herself. She is the type to get into everything, climb on anything in her way, and just a bundle of non stop energy. So, my husband and I always have to be on our toes and one step ahead of her. She makes life fun, interesting, and challenging. Our oldest daughter is 3 and more laid back. However, if she sees her sister getting into trouble and it looks like fun, she is right along with her. The two together is what makes our home unique, fun, and challenging. Like any of your homes, you might have some same challenges or different challenges, but that is what makes every family unique and special. It is mine and my husband's goal to provide information to other people about what we have learned to try to keep our family healthy, active, and safe. We hope you enjoy all that we have to offer you. If you see anything that you would like more information on, please leave a comment and we will work on it.

You can take a few moments to check out the information that is posted on our website. The address is www.thishealthyhome.com The kinds of information you will find is on healthy eating, organic foods, healthy activities, and child safety. We hope you find it information, enjoyable, and put us in your favorites.

A little about us...I am a stay at home Mom and my husband works as an RN for a hospice company. Before having children, I worked with adults and children with mental retardation. Our ministry is our family. We are raising the next generation, just like the majority of you who are probably reading this. Raising children is an amazing responsibility in today's world. We want our children to grow up loving Jesus like my husband and I do. The Word of God is important to us so we try to instill those values into our children so they will not depart from the truth when they are older. We pray you can take the information from this website, use it, and be blessed by it. God Bless You.
